SEE, THINK AND WONDER ( aborigines and white settlers photos)

Image 1:

I see 2 aboriginal men, and one has a spear aiming it at a emu. I think they are trying to catch food so their families can eat dinner. I wonder if he would feel guilty for spearing an emu.

Image 2:

I see a white settler and an aboriginal man on horses going across a river and they seem to be looking at something in the water. I think that they are seeing if their dogs can catch a fish in the water. I wonder if they are trying to look for food.

Image 3:

I see 1 white settler and 3 aboriginal men with 2 dogs. Think they are trying to make a fire with the pile of wood. I wonder if the white settler likes having the aboriginals around.

Image 4:

I see 2 aboriginal men with 1 white settler and 3 horses. I think they are hiding from someone or something. I wonder if they’re families are in Australia.

Image 5:

I see a white settler and a aboriginal and the aboriginal is on his hands and knees and the settler is pointing a gun at something. I think another white settler is trying to shoot them. I wonder if they are scared of something or someone.

Image 6:

I see a family of aboriginals communicating with 2 white settlers. I think they are negotiating about something. I wonder if they are going to let the white settler stay with them for the night.

Quality comments

Hi everyone!,

Today I was asked to make a video on how to write a quality comment, there were 3 options: singing a song / recite a poem about how to make a quality comment, record a video on how to create a good quality comment or create a poster on what makes a good quality comment. I chose #2, but unfortunately I was not able to add it to this post so here is a piece of paper that will help you with making a good quality comment.

Thanks for reading and I would love for you guys to comment and keep the conversation going! Make sure it’s a good quality comment! 😂

Signing off, Tom

Library Reflection Term 1

Hi everyone!,

Today I am going to reflect on my first term of library and the books I read. So let’s get straight into it!

My favourite genres of books are: Sport and funny books because I love sport and reading stories of footy for example, they fill me with determination and even happiness so that when I actually play the sport, I’m determined and happy while playing.
I love funny books because they fill me with laughter. They also give cool ideas to make my friends crack up. For example, they tell funny jokes like: Chuck Norris’s computer doesn’t have a delete button, because Chuck Norris doesn’t make mistakes. Or, Why did the teacher wear sunglasses? Because the class was so bright!

A great sport/funny book to read is The Selwood Boys: Maintain the Mischief , it is about Joel, Troy, Adam and Scott who go to their cousins farm and keep getting themselves into lots of trouble, including making a false snake to scare one of their cousins and shearing their name in big bulging writing on a sheep. If I had score it out of 10, it would be…            10/10!

My bookchat book is “Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.”

It is about a boy named Percy Jackson and he finds out that he is the half blood of Poseidon and is faced with a problem where someone has stolen the Lightning from Zeus. Percy has to get it back in order to find his father and save his Mother from Satan. My thoughts on the book so far is that it is very interesting and pulls the reader in with big action moments and tension scenes. It is a fairly in-between difficulty read, but an amazing story. 9/10

Eve Pownall Award 2019

Eve Pownall Award  2019

Hi everyone!,

This term we have been judging the Eve Pownall awards for 2019 AKA information books award. The criterion that the books have to meet are visuals, layout and information. What makes a good information book?

A good information book is accurate, descriptive (saying it in an interesting way) and is up to date. My best book was Our Birds by Sienna Stubbs, I gave it a 30/30. The criteria if felt best about was visuals. I gave visuals a 10/10 because they were perfectly taken and looked stunning. I gave layout 10/10 because it was presented in a interesting, attractive and friendly manner. Last but not least I gave information a… you guessed it!, a 10/10 because it was very detailed and it’s original.

What is your favourite book and why?

My science experiment!

Greetings everyone!,

This is a video for the upcoming meet the scientist at our school. This post also includes my reflection on the experiment itself.

Reflection on science my experiment.

With our science experiment the things that went well was the experiment, we didn’t have any technical difficulties and our experiment was efficient. The things that we found difficult were that we got interrupted or we accidentally would drop a material when we weren’t ready. The PLAs that we used were curiosity and knowledge. We used curiosity by predicting what was going to happen when we would drop the materials. We used knowledge by seeing what we know of how to figure out the materials that we had to use.

Year 4 Camp Survey

Hey year 4s!

Last week we went on camp. I had alot of fun. Today you will be answering my survey I made for you. The question is going to ask you what your favourite food was. Hope you like it!😛

Choose your own story

You choose: Mahem at Magic School

By George Ivanoff

The pathway I have chosen: if you choose to go to Magic School go to page ~

Two days later your Aunt comes to your house so she can drop you off at Magic School.

You get to Magic School and there is no building! Suddenly someone puts their hand

on your shoulder. It feels cold and slimy. Their voice is panting as they speak like they have

been running for a long time.

  1. If you decide to run and find a safe place to hide and watch whoever touched you, go to page 16.
  2. If you’re curiosity gets the better of you and you want to turn around and find out who touched you, go to page 23.

My maths game

Hey guys!, this time I have made a cool maths game. This video includes me playing the game. The aim is to work out the answer mentally. The learning intention is to still do maths but make it fun for people to play. I hope you enjoy! 😄😋

For the video to work click the link and it might or might not work depending on the WIFI or how it loads

Buddies and Books

Today in house we read books to each other in our buddy groups. Griffin, my year 2 younger buddy, and I thought the book was a good 9/10. We really enjoyed the book because it was very funny and exiting. Overall it was quite fun. We ended the day by going to assembly in House groups.
